Brief introduction:

51 years ago, a special gift came across Europe and Asia to Inner Mongolia, China. In September 1973, at the invitation of the Chinese government, French President Pompidou paid a state visit to China, becoming the first head of state from a western European country to visit China. Premier Zhou Enlai presented President Pompidou a bronze hot pot engraved with the design of "nine dragons rising to the moon" as a "state gift". In October of the same year, President Pompidou presented 50 Charolaise cattle, commonly known as "Charolais white cattle" in return as a gift. 17 of those cattle were settled in the Ujimqin grassland of Xilingol, Inner Mongolia, China. The herdsmen on the grassland raised these cattle far away from home for many years. Now half a century has passed, the offspring of the 17 Charolais cattle have multiplied to 60,000, and they formed the breed of "Ujimqin white cattle".

   Now after 60 years, countless unforgettable diplomatic stories have been precipitated in the long history. And the Ujimqin white cattle living on the Chinese grassland have always been remembered as a beautiful story, witnessing the long lasting friendship between China and France. Inner Mongolia Radio and Television Station will produce a documentary film about "Ambassador” Charolaise, closely linking history and reality, rediscovering that unknown stories, evoking the beautiful memories between the Chinese and French people, writing a story of friendship between China and France, and building a bond of mutual understanding between civilizations and people. Sponsored by the Propaganda Department and International Department of the National Radio and Television Administration, the film is produced by Inner Mongolia Radio and Television Station together with the Propaganda Department of Xilingol League CPC Committee, and overseas production and broadcast of the film is undertaken by the China Central Newsreel and Documentary Film Studio （Group）, the China Intercontinental Communication Center of the Propaganda Department of the CPC Central Committee, People's Daily Overseas Network, China Agricultural Film and Television Center, etc. The documentary " ’Ambassador’  Charolaise " will be broadcasted overseas in multiple languages.
