Jiangsu Broadcasting Corporation (JSBC) was established in June 2001, with 10 television channels launched, including 2 satellite channels, 6 free channels covering the whole of Jiangsu Province, 1 digital paid channel covering the whole of China, and 1 overseas international channel. 13 radio channels were also launched, and JSBC also owns the Nanjing Film Factory, Audio-Visual Publishing House, newspapers, magazines, websites, schools, etc.

The Documentary Department of JSBC is a professional institution engaged in documentary creation under Jiangsu Broadcasting Corporation (Group). In recent years, it has produced a series of national-level documentary projects around major themes and important time nodes, with a "national perspective and international vision," including "Meylanfang," "600 Years of Kunqu Opera," "Grand Canal of China," "Marco Polo," " "Painter from Milan in the Forbidden City," "Eastern Front," "Memories of Nanjing in 1937," "Foreigners' Views of the Nanjing Massacre" (Seasons 1 and 2), "Survivors - Witnessing Nanjing in 1937" (Seasons 1 and 2), "South China Sea Crossing," "Role Model - The Story of Zhou Enlai," "Scars of NanKing," "We Are Young," "The Battle of Huaihai: A Lesson from History," "100 Years of the Communist Party of China," "Remember," "The Glorious Victory: The Lessons of the Anti-US Aid Korea War," and "Father's War-time Home Letters." These projects have won numerous prestigious awards, including the Five-One Project Award of the CPC Central Committee Propaganda Department, the Golden Eagle Award of China TV, the Starlight Award of China TV, the China Radio, Film and Television Award, the China News Award, the Ten Best and Excellent Documentaries of China TV, the Golden Lotus Award of the Guangzhou International Documentary Film Festival, the Golden Panda Award of Sichuan, the Asian Television Award, and the Daytime Emmy Award of the US.
